- The Georgia Bulldogs football schedule is regarded by many as the nation's toughest in 2008. The Dawgs open the season with Georgia Southern and Central Michigan at home, followed by an SEC match at South Carolina. Georgia then travels to Arizona State before hosting Alabama, Tennessee and Vanderbilt in Athens. The schedule turns brutal with a trip to LSU and a neutral site game with Florida in Jacksonville, followed by road games at Kentucky and Auburn. The Bulldogs wrap up their season against in-state ACC foe Georgia Tech.
- Phil Steele, a college football pundit, has the Washington Huskies at the top in his strength of schedule rankings. Not only do the Huskies face their regular Pac-10 slate (at Arizona, Cal, Oregon, USC and Washington State; home against Arizona State, Oregon State, Stanford and UCLA), they have non-conference matchups against BYU, Notre Dame and Oklahoma.
- The Eastern Michigan Eagles have two consecutive byes in their 2008 schedule. After a November 1st game at Western Michigan, the Eagles are off for two weeks before traveling to face Temple.
- The New Mexico Lobos will be the first team to finish their 2008 regular season after a November 15th game at the Colorado State Rams.
- The Idaho Vandals (Nov. 22), Washington State Cougars (Nov. 29) and Cincinnati Bearcats (Dec. 6) all finish their regular season at Hawaii.
