The Auburn Tigers have added the Furman University Paladins to their 2009 football schedule.  The game is scheduled for November 7, 2009, at Jordan-Hare Stadium.  According to the official website of Furman Athletics, this will be the fourth overall meeting between the two schools, but the first since 1956.

Furman last played an SEC school in 2002, when they lost to Vanderbilt.  The Paladins are scheduled to play the South Carolina Gamecocks in 2010 and the Florida Gators in 2011.

Furman University is in the Football Championship Subdivision, formerly known as Division 1-AA.  The Auburn Tigers have played at least one FCS school in five of the past six seasons.
