By Kevin Kelley -

ESPN’s College GameDay will broadcast their first show of the season from the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff in Atlanta. The game, which will be played at the Georgia Dome, features the Clemson Tigers of the ACC against the Alabama Crimson Tide of the SEC.

A day-long event will be held at Centennial Olympic Park to celebrate the beginning of the college football season, leading up to the football game, which is scheduled for 8:00pm EST. The game will be televised by ABC and ESPN Gameplan.

The Alabama Crimson Tide finished the 2007 season with a win in the Independence Bowl, for a 7-6 record. Clemson went 9-4 in 2007, closing out their season with a loss to the Auburn Tigers in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

I wonder if ESPN Gameday will be in Athens for the Alabama at Georgia game? They haven’t been to Athens in over 5 years.
