On Friday, ESPN released their Thursday night college football TV schedule for 2009. The season opener features a doubleheader with South Carolina traveling to N.C. State and Boise State hosting Oregon.

- Sept. 10 – Clemson at Georgia Tech (7:30 pm)
- Sept. 17 – Georgia Tech at Miami (7:30 pm)
- Sept. 24 – Mississippi at South Carolina (7:30 pm)
- Oct. 1 – Colorado at West Virginia (7:30 pm)
- Oct. 8 – Nebraska at Missouri (9 pm)
- Oct. 15 – Cincinnati at South Florida (7:30 pm)
- Oct. 22 – Florida State at North Carolina (8 pm)
- Oct. 29 – North Carolina at Virginia Tech (7:30 pm)
