Wisconsin seeking football series with Nebraska or Notre Dame

By Kevin Kelley -

The Wisconsin Badgers are seeking to schedule a home-and-home football series against the Nebraska Cornhuskers or the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, various sources are reporting. Currently, the Badgers need a home game in 2012 and a road game in 2015.

Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema tweeted this yesterday on his Twitter page:

“Also trying to lock up a home and home contest with Notre Dame or Nebraska for the future. (Home 2012 away 2015). Would be fun for WI fans.”

Bielema discussed the tweet on the “Lucas and Lepay Show” on WTSO (1070 AM) in Wisconsin. He said that Nebraska and Notre Dame appeared to have openings on their future schedules, among other things.

A blog post today on Madison.com indicates that nothing is close with scheduling Notre Dame or Nebraska.

Oh man they should totally play Nebraska, that’d be awesome. I wish Michigan scheduled more like that and played a REAL TEAM instead of Massachusetts (ugh) on Sept 18th.

Yes, it would be nice to see them play Notre Dame . And I hope Wisconsin
wins all the rest of their games !!
