South Carolina adds Navy to 2011 Football Schedule

South CarolinaNavyThe South Carolina Gamecocks have added the Navy Midshipmen to their 2011 football schedule, the schools announced on Wednesday.

The Gamecocks will host the Midshipmen at Williams-Brice Stadium on September 17, 2011. It will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1988.

South Carolina leads the overall series against Navy 4-3. In their last matchup in 1988, the Gamecocks won 19-8 in Columbia.

In 2011, South Carolina also has non-conference games scheduled against East Carolina (09/03/11 in Charlotte, NC), Clemson (11/26/11) and The Citadel (date TBA).

    It doesn’t matter who they add, people will still gripe that the SEC is overrated. It’s ok though, we’ll just keep winning.

    Big mistake to think you are quote they are going to kill Navy! That’s what Notre Dame thought and Navy beat them the last two years and Ohio State thought they would kill Navy and just barely won in Columbus 31 -29.8
