Pac-10The Utah Utes will accept an invitation to join the Pac-10 on Thursday, various sources have reported.

The addition of Utah will make the Pac-10 a 12-team conference. Colorado accepted an invitation last week, and both schools will join for the 2012 season, but possibly for the 2011 season.

The Utes have been a member of the Mountain West Conference since 1999. They won the conference title in 1999, 2003, 2004 and 2008.

  • Oregon State
  • Stanford

Other than money Utah had no reason to go to the PAC 10. They were a top tier team in the MWC with very solid competition. And Colorado, that program is a last place team in the division. All this expansion is going to ruin college football as we know. All for money grabbing trolls.

Beano Cook of ESPN says Colorado isn’t a
good fit for the Pac12. I agree. They’re bad in basketball and football.

If they do break it up that way, the Pac-12 would keep there two team travel for sports like BB, Baseball and etc, in football just like now one year Ore go Southern Californa to play USC and next year to play UCLA. Same as Wash and Wash St., AZ, AZ St, Cal and Stanford, same for Utah, one year to area for USC and following year for UCLA. Colorado same teams going there also. But it is mostly for revenue which really helps with other sports and hopefully for classroom too. Not sure on CCG, Neutral site, or mid way, or northern area one year and souther area next year. I imagine want field that has at least 70,000 plus place or more. If its played in Nev, Utah or Colorado, one hour time zone closer to central and eastern time zones for tv coverage. Would have really been good if the Texas school came creating west and east conference with 8 teams each, but didn’t think it would happen Texas would have to share equally and they don’t now so can’t blame them. Even with Utah and Colorado only would have needed 4 more teams as AZ and AZ St would be in east. Lotta teams in TX, just think they tried for Grand slam and didn’t get it, but the key was and is Texas, what they did rest follow.
