USC, Texas schedule 2017-18 football series

By Tim K. -

Two of the top powers in college football, the USC Trojans and Texas Longhorns, have announced a home-and-home series which will start in 2017.

The Texas Longhorns will meet the USC Trojans on September 16, 2017 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to begin the series. The return game will take place on September 15, 2018 at Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin to complete the series.

The last meeting between the Trojans and Longhorns occurred at the 2006 Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena, when the Longhorns defeated the Trojans 41-38 in a memorable game. The Trojans hold a 4-1 lead in the all-time series, with wins in 1955 and 1967 in Los Angeles and 1956 and 1966 in Austin.

As a fan of College Football, One has to enjoy and Respect both schools for making this deal. You have 2 Great Traditional Powers, and God only knows in 2017 what both schools will look like. As a USC Trojan supporter and longtime fan, I do have Respect for Texas and while it’s taken me the last 5 years to get over the NC game, It will also give myself and my fellow trojan family members a shot at redemption. Not against VY of course, but at a texas program which is very rich in Tradition. This Series is College Football at it’s Best and USC should be more than healed in time after post sanctions, to be a Threat again, for the NC. We’ll see. USC also has a Home-Home with Texas A&m as well starting earlier, in 2015 & 16. I’m excited about my Trojans playing both. FIGHT ON USC Trojans and both Texas schools for this agreement. It’s what makes the game Great.

I know this is a long ways but USC is going to be good and hopefully my horns will not have a season like ’10 or ’11.
