Auburn, Clemson to play in 2012 Chick-fil-A College Kickoff Doubleheader

The Auburn Tigers and the Clemson Tigers will face off in the 2012 Chick-fil-A College Kickoff doubleheader, Chick-fil-A Bowl officials have announced.

The NC State Wolfpack and the Tennessee Volunteers will face off in the other game of the College Kickoff at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Specific dates and times of the two games have not been announced.

Auburn leads the all-time series between the two teams 33-11-2. Since 1971, the two teams have only played twice with both meetings coming in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Now this will be a solid double-header….all four programs are doing somewhat well and once Dooley gets recruiting,Tenneessee will rebound quickly. Too bad Michigan’s yellow streak continued and they bailed on a chance to play Alabama next year.

The two teams played last year in Auburn. Auburn barely won in OT. They will play again this year in Clemson, so the 2012 game will be the 4th year in a row the two teams will have met.
