Kansas State, Virginia Tech cancel 2014, 2016 football series

The Kansas State Wildcats and Virginia Tech Hokies have canceled their home-and-home football series in 2014 and 2016, KansasCity.com has reported.

Kansas State was scheduled to travel to Virginia Tech on September 6, 2014 and host the Hokies on September 24, 2016.

Last month, Kansas State canceled a 2011-12 series with the Oregon Ducks. Wildcat head coach Bill Snyder has a reputation for preferring light non-conference schedules. But K-State also has to take into account the new Big 12 and one additional conference game in the future.

Smart way to keep his players healthy for the likes of Oklahoma & Texas. Bill, we support your decisions to help KSU has a winning season.

Bill snyder is a very very very soft coach. He cannot put it on the line once in a while.Has to play a soft patsy schedule like eastern kentucky.give me a break. Then they want respect. PLEASE!!!!!!

You want to be national champs you need to schedule a tougher non conference schedule or it will catch up with you at the end of the season.Just look at for example boise state. That is what hurts them every year.Auburn the year they went undefeated and did not get a chance at a national champaionship. Strenth of schedule non conference.

We wish Coach Snyder would play a top program as a non-conference gm per yr.
Some of us know Miami refused to be dropped. VTech should have done the same if they wanted to play KSU

Just a suggestion, the AD at KSU might consider Boise State as a worthy opponent. Neither one of us is a cupcake and would pose a challenge to the other. Like I said, Just a suggestion
