Boise State, Michigan State schedule three-game football series

By Kevin Kelley -

The Boise State Broncos and the Michigan State Spartans have scheduled a three-game football series for 2012, 2022 and 2023, MSU announced yesterday.

Two contracts were signed for this series, a single-game contract for 2012 and a home-and-home contract for 2022-23. Boise State will receive $1.2 million for the game at MSU in 2012.

Michigan State will host Boise State at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing on Friday, August 31, 2012. This season-opener for both schools will be televised by ESPN. To make room for the game, Boise State moved their 2012 game at Oregon State to September 24, 2016.

Michigan State will travel to face Boise State on September 17, 2022 at Boise Stadium in Boise, Idaho. The Spartans will host the Broncos in the final game of the series on September 16, 2023.

The 2012 game will be the first ever meeting between these two schools.

At least one school has the guts to play Boise. Now it going to be interesting how strong or weak these two teams will be when that game comes.

lame…and it has to be at mich st.. and another 10 years later mich st will play at bsu.. whats wrong with back to back or a year later?

Only because Boise, refused a contract to play an SEC team and an ACC team $900,000K was not a good enough offer so MSU steped up and offerd $1.2 mil. But MSU will still bet the bricks off Boise

Anon….

While I agree that it sucks Boise has to come to MSU and wait 10 years later for a return game,I’m with Eddy and giving props to MSU for doing a straight up home and away series. Kudos to Michigan State for that…now who else from the Big 6 will do the same?

Great!! Things is things will have changed a lot by 2022!
Hopefully boise can find a good game for that 2nd game next season

It is not that teams are afraid to schedule Boise, it is that they have set a high price for them to be visitor. They are getting 1.2 mil
from michigan state. Last year there were talks of them playing at Nebraska but there asking price was out the ceiling. Then they spin it that nobody will play them boo hoo!

nebraska offer a lower school more money then boise, its like getting paid to get punched in the mouth for $5 awhile the other kid gets $10 you know what i mean?
