UConn adds future series vs. Virginia and Western Michigan

The Connecticut Huskies have scheduled home-and-home football series against Virginia and Western Michigan, TheDay.com has reported. The Huskies have also added future dates against several other teams.

Connecticut will host Western Michigan at Rentschler Field in East Hartford on October 1, 2011. The Huskies will travel to face the Broncos at Waldo Stadium in Kalamazoo on September 22, 2012.

The Huskies and Broncos only meeting was in 2003. Connecticut won that game 41-27.

On September 17, 2016, the Virginia Cavaliers of the ACC will visit Rentschler Field. Connecticut will return the game by playing at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville on September 16, 2017.

Connecticut and Virginia have played twice with the series tied at one game each. The Cavaliers won 17-16 in 2007, and the Huskies won 45-10 in 2008.

TheDay.com also revealed several other future non-conference opponents for the Huskies, including games against Fordham in 2011 and Towson in 2013. Dates for several other games were released, including games against Maryland, Michigan and UCF.
