South Carolina announces 2011 football schedule

The South Carolina Gamecocks have announced their 2011 football schedule, which features games against Clemson, Navy, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.

South Carolina will open the 2011 season against East Carolina on September 3. The game will be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Their other non-conference games are Navy (09/17), The Citadel (11/19) and Clemson (11/26), all at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

The Gamecocks open the SEC portion of their schedule on September 10 at Georgia. After hosting the Naval Academy, South Carolina hosts Vanderbilt (09/24), defending national champion Auburn (10/01) and Kentucky (10/08) before traveling to face Mississippi State (10/15).

After a bye week, the Gamecocks travel to Tennessee (10/29) and Arkansas (11/05) before returning home to face Florida (11/12) in their final SEC game of the season.

South Carolina, who finished 9-5 and ranked 22nd in the final AP Poll, will face a total of 10 teams that played in bowls last season.

The SEC Championship Game will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
