Kent State announces 2011 football schedule

The Kent State Golden Flashes have announced their 2011 football schedule, which includes games against Alabama, Kansas State, Akron, Central Michigan, Miami (OH) and Northern Illinois.

Kent State will open the 2011 season with a road game at Alabama on September 3, followed by a home game with Louisiana-Lafayette on September 10. After a road game at Kansas State on September 17, the Golden Flashes conclude their 2011 non-conference schedule by hosting FCS newcomer South Alabama on September 24.

The Golden Flashes open 2011 MAC play on October 1 at Ohio. The remainder of their conference schedule is at Northern Illinois (10/08), Miami, OH (10/15), Bowling Green (10/29),  Central Michigan (Fri 11/04), at Akron (11/12), Eastern Michigan (11/19) and at Temple (Fri. 11/25).

The 2011 MAC Championship Game will be played on Friday, December 2 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan (8:00 p.m. ET – ESPN2).
