Vanderbilt to open 2013 Football Season at Ohio State

By Kevin Kelley -

The Vanderbilt Commodores will open the 2013 season with a trip to Ohio State, the Buckeyes announced yesterday. The game will be played on August 31, 2013.

Ohio State leads the all-time series against Vanderbilt 3-1. The last meeting between the two schools was in 1933, a 20-0 victory for the Buckeyes in Columbus. The Commodores’ only victory was 26-21 in 1931, also in Columbus.

Vandy is also slated to host Austin Peay, Northwestern and Wake Forest in 2013. The SEC has yet to release the conference schedule beyond 2011.

The Buckeyes have a trip to California scheduled in 2013 and still need two more non-conference games. The Big Ten portion of their schedule was confirmed yesterday, and includes Iowa, Penn State and Wisconsin at home and Michigan on the road.

Way to make a statement Ohio State. Play the worst team in the SEC so you can say hey we beat another SEC team. Congrats OSU, first you beat the thugs from Arkansas and now you play the the smart kids whose fans don’t give a rip. I will say Vandy is better then Kent State and North Texas :p

vANDY IS TO BE GIVEN LOTS OF MONEY AND CREDIT FOR PLAYING OSU. SO OSU WINS AGAINST A WEAK SEC TEAM. AT LEAST VANDY DID NOT BUY RHEIR WAY OUT OF N.C. LIKE DOOLEY AND VOLS DID.

Vandy>UT>Kentucky… You just can’t win with SEC fans. FIrst we won’t schedule them and they blame us for scheduling Kent… even though we have no D2 or FBS schools on our schedule, and we schedule an SEC school and its on that is not good enough?

WHatever, Vandy will win some SEC games.

maximillian, do some homework. LSU and UF have both refused a home and a away with tOSU for about a decade now.
