Michigan State’s 2011 opener moved to Friday night

Michigan State’s 2011 season opener against Youngstown State has been moved back one day to Friday, September 2, the school announced today. The game will be televised by the Big Ten Network at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The game will be the first ever meeting between Michigan State and Youngstown State. The Penguins compete in the Missouri Valley Conference of the FCS.

After hosting Youngstown State, the Spartans host Florida Atlantic, travel to Notre Dame and the host Central Michigan to complete the non-conference portion of their 2011 football schedule. Michigan State begins Big Ten play on October 1 at Ohio State.
