Arizona completes 2012 non-conference football schedule

By Kevin Kelley -

The Arizona Wildcats have completed their 2012 non-conference football schedule with the addition of South Carolina State, TucsonCitizen.com has reported.

Arizona will open the 2012 season with three straight non-conference games at home: Toledo on Sept. 1, Oklahoma State on Sept. 8 and South Carolina State on Sept. 15.

The 2012 game with Toledo is the last in a two-for-one series. The Wildcats beat the Rockets 41-16 in 2008 in Tucson and 41-2 last year in Toledo. Arizona also recorded a win over Toledo back in 1985.

Arizona is 3-4 all-time against Oklahoma State. The two schools last met in the 2010 Alamo Bowl which resulted in a 36-10 victory for the Cowboys. The 2012 game is the last game in a home-and-home series that begins on September 10, 2011 in Stillwater.

The third and final 2012 con-conference game against South Carolina State will be the first ever meeting between the two schools. The Bulldogs, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in the FCS, were crowned Black College National Champions in 2009.

Pac-12 dates for 2012 have yet to be announced, but Arizona’s opponents are known. The Wildcats will host Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon State, USC and Washington and will travel to play Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and Utah.

if i’m doing my math right that is 8 home games.

wish they’d scheduled BYU for one of those as an away….. ah well

This sets up as a favorable schedule for U of A. Will they have the personel to take advantage of it?

At least get a respectable team to play us, I hate when people play crap schedules
