Oregon State announces 2012 Non-conference Football Schedule

By Kevin Kelley -

The Oregon State Beavers have finalized their 2012 non-conference football schedule, OSU Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis announced today.

Oregon State will open the 2012 season at home on September 1 against the Nicholls State Colonels, a member of the Southland Conference in the FCS.

On September 8, OSU welcomes the Wisconsin Badgers to Corvallis. The two schools’ only meeting was in 1961, a 23-20 win for the Badgers in Madison.

The Beavers final non-conference game is October 13 at BYU. Oregon State was originally scheduled to open the season at BYU, but the game was rescheduled.

Oregon State and BYU have played a total of nine times since 1955. The Beavers lead the overall series 5-4. In their last meeting, BYU won 44-20 in the 2009 Las Vegas Bowl.

In Pac-12 games, Oregon State will host Arizona State, California, Oregon, Utah and Washington State and will travel to Arizona, Stanford, UCLA and Washington.

Ummmm if BYU were clearing the deck for a conference invitation they would have made the opposite move. Nonconference games are typically played earlier in the year, and if BYU joined the Big12 then Oregon State would be a nonconference game. So in that case BYU would have wanted the Oregon State game as early in the season as possible in order to “clear the schedule” for the conference games later in the season.

Way to go OREGON STATE.

The program sucks so bad they schedule Nichols State at home.

Nichols State….

Sacremento State just beat them at home.

Way to go Bobby D!!

#WINNING

Where else are they gonna play them moron? At Nichols St.? Did you even have a logical point to make? How is Nichols St. at home different than anyone the Ducks play i.e. Missouri St. just today. I only say this because you sound like a ducks fan.

Seven home games…seems like we might have a shot at a lower-tier bowl game, if we can just keep the injury bug at bay (and if our OL learns to block!)
