Vanderbilt Commodores announce 2012 Football Schedule

Vanderbilt CommodoresThe Vanderbilt Commodores have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Northwestern, Wake Forest, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Missouri and Tennessee.

Vanderbilt opens the 2012 season at home against South Carolina on Thursday, Aug. 30. Vandy was previously scheduled to host Presbyterian on opening weekend, but the game was moved to Sept. 15.

The following week, the Commodores travel to Evanston, Illinois to take on Northwestern. Vanderbilt also has non-conference contests against UMass (Oct. 27) and at Wake Forest (Nov. 24).

Vanderbilt resumes SEC play on Sept. 22 at Georgia, followed by an open date and then a trip to conference newcomer Missouri on Oct. 6.

The rest of the Commodores SEC slate includes Florida (Oct.  13), Auburn (Oct. 20), at Kentucky (Nov. 3), at Ole Miss (Nov. 10) and Tennessee (Nov. 17).

The 2012 SEC Championship Game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
