Texas Tech to open 2012 season at home vs. Northwestern State

Texas Tech Red RaidersThe Texas Tech Red Raiders will open the 2012 season at home against the Northwestern State Demons. The date was confirmed yesterday when NSU released their 2012 schedule.

Texas Tech will host Northwestern State at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012. The two schools first and only meeting was in 2007. The Red Raiders pummeled the Demons 75-7.

Northwestern State is a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision. They finished the 2011 season 5-6.

Texas Tech’s 2012 non-conference schedule is now complete. Barring any late changes, the Red Raiders will travel to Texas State on Sept. 8 followed by a trip to face New Mexico on Sept. 15.

The Big 12 schedule is set to be released by Wednesday, Feb. 1. According to LubbockOnline, Tech expects to host Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia.
