Actually, it should read Temple is no longer part of the MAC as they have rejoined the Big East Conference in football. Temple was previously in that conference from 1991 until they became an independent prior to the 2005 season, before playing five seasons in the MAC from 2007 until returning to the Big East last month.

Thanks Tom. We know Temple was part of Big East before, we just didn’t want to overtake the article with a school that is no longer part of the MAC.

of all the teams breaking deals and moving around,Temple’s move bugs me the most. The Big East dropped them because they couldn’t compete nor draw very well….and if they had tried to go as a indy, they would have never made it. The MAC allowed Temple to save their program, compete of a much better playing field and helped rebuild interest in the program.
The BE is only bringing them back as they have lost several programs, not because they wanted them back…hell, the BE was courting Villanova before asking Temple back….but UMass will be a fine addition to the MAC and unlike Temple, will be glad to be here.

That is a good move for temple. They are good enough to play in the bigeast. They beat penn state and went to a bowl and won.

Temple beat Penn State? That’s news to everyone. Unless you are talking about back in 1941.

May i remind you thet penn state finished the season 9-4 and went to the ticketcity bowl. So penn state is not a bad team

1941 was the last time Temple beat Penn State in football. In 2011, Penn State beat Temple, that’s all I was saying.

Got tickets to the Illinois State- EMU game…we go see EMU once a year, really great place to see a game at. Much better then in Ann Arbor.

Are you serious? EMU is the worst stadium I’ve ever been to. They hurt for attendance so badly that they opened-up the CMU @ EMU game for free a few years ago, and there was definitely more CMU fans there.
