Notre Dame sets kickoff times for 2012 Football Home Games

By Kevin Kelley -

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have announced kickoff times for their 2012 home games, their contest at Soldier Field in Chicago and their annual Spring game.

All home games, except for Michigan, will be televised by NBC at 3:30 p.m. ET. That includes games against Purdue (9/8), Stanford (10/12), BYU (10/20), Pittsburgh (11/3), and Wake Forest (11/17).

The Michigan game on Sept. 22 will be televised by NBC at 7:30 p.m. ET. It will be the first time the Irish and the Wolverines have played at night in South Bend since 1990.

NBC will also televise the Oct. 6 match-up against the Miami Hurricanes at Soldier Field in Chicago. That game will start at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Fighting Irish open the 2012 season against Navy at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. CBS will televise that game at 9:00 a.m. ET.

Notre Dame also announced that their 83rd annual Blue-Gold Spring football game will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network (formerly Versus) at 1:30 p.m. ET on Sat., April 21.

Isn’t the Navy game a 9am EST kickoff (per Matt Sarz)? Or is that unofficial at this time?

Otherwise…cool that ND-MICH gets the primetime treatment again this year.

9am is a bad idea. Not many people would get up early to watch that one. Do a noon kickoff, which would be 6pm Ireland time.

Isn’t the Navy game a 9am EST kickoff? Thought I saw that @ mattsarz’s site. Otherwise – cool that ND/MICH is a primetime game again this year.

There is a news article that says it is at 9 AM. You can check with mattsarz for the link.

Early in the season, from Ireland, versus Navy and nice and early, CBS will get a big number for an early season game and Notre Dame/Navy will be the only game on the tube for cfb junkies to watch across the nation.

Good thinking by CBS!
