The Auburn Tigers will host the Idaho Vandals in 2015, according to documents obtained by the Idaho Statesman in April.

Auburn will host Idaho at Jordan-Hare Stadium on September 19, 2015. The game will be only the second meeting between the two schools.

The Vandals made their first and only trip to Auburn on Sept. 11, 1999 and almost stole a win from the Tigers. Trailing 23-0 entering the 4th quarter, Idaho scored 23 points, including a touchdown with only :41 seconds remaining, but fell 30-23.

Idaho is the first known non-conference game for the Tigers in 2015. Auburn’s 2013 non-conference slate includes Arkansas State, Jacksonville State, and Washington State while a trip to Kansas State looms in 2014.

The Vandals, whose future conference affiliation is currently unknown, also host the Ohio Bobcats in 2015. Idaho is currently set to face Ole Miss, Wyoming, Northern Illinois, and Washington State in 2013 and Florida, Western Michigan, Ohio, and Northern Illinois in 2014.

I love the Tigers but this sucks…better than Alabama A&M or Jacksonville State but not by much. I hope the SEC goes to a 9 game schedule by 2015 and this is the one trash game for Auburn. It would be nice to have 1 or 2 “BCS” schools and if they have to have another mid-major I would hope for a quality opponent such as Southern Miss. At least Clemson, Washington State and Kansas State are on the up coming schedules. Come on Jay Jacobs you can do better than Idaho, New Mexico State and Louisiana Monroe (someone in Monroe must have photos as many times as Auburn has cut them a check)

It might not be any better than Alabama A&M or Jacksonville State by the time the game happens. Idaho is looking at the serious possibility of going back to 1-AA by then.

That is true but I’ve heard Idaho plans to play as an independent for 2 years and hope the Sun Belt decides to go to 12 teams which they are considering.

PNB I feel your pain with this addition to the Tiger schedule. This type of scheduling will someday catch-up to both Auburn and The SEC. It is sad and I agree the conference along with all conferences should go to minimum nine game slates.

At least the other SEC schools scheduled better than Mississippi State. They will not schedule a single BCS opponent.

Auburn is prolly gonna lose to Idaho if chizik is still around. Bucnh of scrumbs. RTR
