By Kevin Kelley -

Wyoming CowboysWyoming and Washington State have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2015 and 2018, both schools have announced.

Washington State will host the first game of the series at Martin Stadium in Pullman on Sept. 12, 2015. The final game will be played on Sept. 1, 2018 at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie.

“The Wyoming series falls in line with my goal to add quality nonconference opponents for our football program,” said WSU Director of Athletics Bill Moos.

The Cowboys and Cougars first met in 1962 and have played five times. Washington State leads the series 3-2, but Wyoming won the last meeting 34-13 in 1990.

Wyoming also announced that they have added Montana to their 2014 football schedule. The Cowboys will host the Grizzlies on Aug. 30, 2014.

Montana, a member of the FCS, is 0-13 all-time against Wyoming. The two schools haven’t played since 1997.

“We continue to work toward building future football schedules that will help our program gain exposure on a national level, while also bringing to Laramie quality opponents who are exciting for our fans to see,” said Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman. “We’ve had some great games with both Washington State and Montana. To add another home game versus a PAC-12 opponent is something we are excited to be able to offer our fans, and we also know our fans enjoy watching regional rivals such as the University of Montana, which is one of the most successful Football Championship Subdivision programs in the nation.”
