By Kevin Kelley -

The 2012 Conference USA Football Championship Game is set with the UCF Knights facing the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Tulsa will host the game at H.A. Chapman Stadium on Sat., Dec. 1 at 12 p.m. ET (ESPN2).

Tulsa (9-3, 7-1 C-USA) won the Western Division after beating UCF 23-21 on Nov. 17. The Golden Hurricane finished two games ahead of SMU.

UCF (9-3, 7-1 C-USA) clinched the Eastern Division with a 49-24 win vs. UAB on Saturday. The Knights had the same record as East Carolina, but won the tie-breaker because they defeated the Pirates head-to-head.

This is the third time in the history of the Conference USA Championship Game that Tulsa and UCF have met. Tulsa beat UCF 44-27 in 2005, and then the Knights returned the favor in 2007 with a 44-25 victory. The Golden Hurricane lead the all-times series against the Knights 4-2, including their regular-season win back on Nov. 17.

I assume Tulsa hosts because of their previous victory over UCF. Who would host, hypothetically speaking, if the two division champions had identical conference records and did not play each other in the regular season?
