Charlotte will play at Kansas State in 2016.

The Charlotte 49ers have announced that they have added the Kansas State Wildcats to their 2016 football schedule.

Charlotte will travel to face Kansas State at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium in Manhattan on Sept. 10, 2016. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

“We know those guys out there and we’ve talked about scheduling a game and it’s worked out,” Charlotte head coach Brad Lambert said. “Things really changed when we joined Conference USA. They had expressed interest when we were FCS, but I don’t know if it would have happened without us going to Conference USA and the FBS. It will be a good homecoming for me and (Director of Operations) Trevor (Lambert).”

The Charlotte 49ers are set to start their football program in 2013 as an FCS Independent. They will begin C-USA football competition in 2015 after completion of the mandatory two seasons at the FCS level.

Charlotte now has four future games scheduled against FBS opponents: Temple (2015), at Kansas State (2016), at Temple (2016), and at Virginia Tech (2019).

This is the first non-conference game scheduled for Kansas State in 2016. The Wildcats have completed their slate in 2013 and 2014 and need one more game in 2015.

Bill Snyder being Bill Snyder, I see one thing hasn’t changed since his first tenure at KSU…scheduling some of the lowest competition available.

2016 — Charlotte
2015 — South Dakota, UTSA
2014 — Stephen F. Austin, UTSA
2013 — UMass

Seth, Brad Lambert is a K. St. Alum and we’ll see if by 2016 whether you think we’re ‘weak’ or not.

every “big” team is sheduling weak teams – look at the whole SEC or FSU or OSU
its an easy win and easy money …

No doubt Charlotte will be on a sharp learning curve and rapidly improving competitive performance track, but realistically what are the chances that Charlotte will be more competitive than North Carolina, North Carolina State, Duke, Wake Forrest or East Carolina.

Awful lot of FBS schools in North Carolina competing for talent.

Wish you guys well! That is a tough nut to crack.

I see Good op BS SNYDER cranked up the scheduling again in Non conference. MY this GOD!!!! PLAY. Someone!!!! This is why nobody gives a crape about Ksttae.

Steven, your an idiot. You can’t type and you make no valid sense. Go home. Either your jealous of kstate because they beat your team every year, or you wish you has a coach as good as bill Snyder. But either way, you being a dumbass on a schedule site to come on and say that is foolish and you should have another drink. Please stop waisting our time.
