The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have completed their 2013 non-conference football schedule with the addition of a game against Morgan State.

WKU will host Morgan State at Houchens Industries-L. T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green on Sept. 21, 2013. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

The Hilltoppers open the 2013 season, their first under head coach Bobby Petrino, on Saturday, Aug. 31 against the Kentucky Wildcats at LP Field in Nashville, TN.

Western Kentucky then plays their second consecutive SEC foe when they travel to face the Tennessee Volunteers on Sept. 7.

After hosting Morgan State, WKU welcomes Navy to Bowling Green on Sept. 28. Western Kentucky’s final non-conference game is Nov. 9 at Army.

In Sun Belt play, the Hilltoppers are set to face Arkansas State, Georgia State, South Alabama, ULM, UL Lafayette, Texas State, and Troy. The full 2013 SBC schedule will be released soon, possibly tomorrow.

Western Kentucky does NOT play Middle Tennessee in 2013, as a result of MT’s move to C-USA. They will play UL-Lafayette.

What does MTSU moving to C-USA have to do with playing Western in the non-conference?

Western still needed a game, and MTSU could of canceled another game to make room for this one. That is a little rivalry because they are so close apart.
