The 2015 Big Ten Football Schedule was officially announced today. Conference play begins on September 19, 2015 when Rutgers travels to Penn State.
In 2014 and 2015, each team will play every other team within its division plus two teams from the opposite division. Then in 2016 when the nine-game schedule begins, each team will play every other team within its division plus three teams from the opposite division. The only cross-division protected rivalry will be Indiana-Purdue.
Featured non-conference games in 2015 include Pittsburgh at Iowa, Maryland at West Virginia, Oregon at Michigan State, BYU at Michigan, TCU at Minnesota, Nebraska at Miami (FL), Stanford at Northwestern, Ohio State at Virginia Tech, Penn State at Temple, Notre Dame at Purdue, Kansas at Rutgers, and Wisconsin vs. Alabama (at Cowboys Stadium).
The 2015 Big Ten Championship Game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Why does Rutgers get Wisconsin and Nebraska from the West two years in a row?
Two-year rotating schedule. The 2015 schedule is the same as 2014 except the home sites are flipped.

Wow … just wow! How does OSU and Michigan not play Nebraska and Wisconsin, again? What a joke.
I think the joke is that some people can not grasp the concept of a two year cycle. The 2014 and 2015 schedules are identical rematches of 2014 but the road team in 2014 becomes the home team in 2015; and the home team from 2014 goes on the road.

I know it is a two-year cycle, but you would think the self-righteous Big 10 would have scheduled at least one inter-division game between the heavyweights during the two years. If the SEC pulled a stunt like this, the media would be screaming from the top other its lungs about it. In the end, it will not matter: The Big 10 champ will get monkey-stomped by the SEC champ.
How hilarious would it be if the B1G gave in to this complaining and swapped out OSU/Illinois with OSU/Wisconsin, and then Wisconsin were to go 3-9 and Illinois wins the division?
2015 is still a ways away, and the “heavyweights” are going to face off in the B1G title game no matter what. Chillax.

I agree that 8 game schedules in 14 team conferences are a joke. The SEC should look into fixing their joke schedules.
SEC schedules work on a rotation. Since everybody can’t play everybody, there will always be seasons where the best teams don’t meet in the regular season.
The conferences are so huge now, they should be at least 9 conference game schedules! SEC is a very good conference even though alot of years it is extremely top heavy with the top 5 or 6. But just playing 1 quality team outside the SEC in the title game really doesn’t mean too much. Notre Dame last season was about 7th or 8th nationally at best but just got so many lucky breaks in 4 or so games.
If I was a player I would want to visit each school at least once, I really don’t like a 14 team football conference, it’s cool for basketball but it’s to many teams for football
why do other conferences have kick off times and big 10 waits to see what ESPN or other networks do???????
