Nebraska adds Troy to 2018 Football Schedule

By Kevin Kelley -

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have added the Troy Trojans to their 2018 football schedule, both schools officially announced this afternoon.

Nebraska will host Troy at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Sept. 15, 2018. The contest will be the fifth meeting between the two schools.

All four contests between Nebraska and Troy have been played in Lincoln. The Cornhuskers lead the series 4-0 after winning 42-14 in 2001, 31-16 in 2002, 30-0 in 2003, and 56-0 in 2006.

After adding Troy to their 2018 non-conference schedule, Nebraska only needs to schedule one addition opponent. The Cornhuskers also host Colorado on Sept. 8.

Troy also has two announced opponents in 2018. Their other contest is a Sept. 1 season-opener at home against Boise State.

Why on earth would they want to visit BYU? Nebraska is a major program and has no need to.

When is Michigan visiting BYU? Like Nebraska in 2015 BYU visits the big house a few weeks later. I seriously doubt either school will agree to a trip to Provo. 110,000 and 91,000 in stadium attendance is one good reason.

After what BYU did to Texas last week, isn’t it obvious why other major programs are too scared to play at BYU?
