Wow, Week 13 has come upon us so fast in my opinion. I am looking forward to another Saturday afternoon and evening of college football. Well, Friday night my favorite team the Navy – Midshipmen take on a tough and pesky San Jose State Spartan team that has gotten the Middies both times that they played against each other. Let’s hope that the 3rd time is a charm and the Middies win the game even though they are going bowling already! Yeah!!! Okay, back to Saturday’s game(s). I am going to “The Game” – ( Yale Bulldogs – vs.- Harvard Crimson @ New Haven – CT ). I wanted to experience what it’s like to watch an Ivy League game. I know that these games currently are not a representation of the games from the 1950 through the early 1980′s when the Ivy league had a much different talent level. Anyways, After watching that game live, I am heading back to my hotel room to watch the BYU -vs.- Notre Dame game with a 3:30pm kickoff time. Let’s hope the “Fighting Irish” do what they do best – Win the game and get back into the Top 25 rankings!!! I am sure they will be ranked after they pull off another win this season over a very good BYU – Cougar team that tends to surprise their opponents by being in the game while the 4th quarter is closing. I already see that even though Notre Dame had a “Bye” week last week after losing to a very tough Pittsburgh Panther team, they managed to pickup some approximately 11 plus votes and that the Pitt Panthers actually won their next game after beating the Fighting Irish and still have not received any votes in the top 25 rankings. Wow!!! See, Notre Dame is still relevant even though they didn’t win a game since 3 weeks ago against my favorite team – the Navy Midshipmen in the waning moments of the 4th quarter by an excellent defensive stand. It just goes to show you that ND gets the benefit of the voters just because of their name and that they are deemed “America’s Team” and have one of the biggest fan bases that stretched throughout all 50 states and they are not only the most passionate but they also travel extremely well and fill the seats at stadiums. That is a bowl game dream to have Notre Dame bless them with their presence at their venue. Okay, where was I going, oh, back to Saturday’s games. after watching the ND game at 3:30pm, I am looking forward to watching a combination of games such as Arizona State -Vs.- UCLA @ the Rose Bowl – always an exciting game and just love the Rose bowl venue with all the past history that happened their over the past 60 plus years. I will also be watching the Baylor Bears -vs.- Oklahoma State at Stillwater – Oklahoma. Wow, that venue is an awesome place to watch a game. Those Oklahoman’s are definitely passionate about their Cowboys too. I remember being out their in Norman Oklahoma on business in 1983 when Oklahoma State beat the Oklahoma Sooners I think it was something like 21 – 20 making the 7 – 4 bowl eligible and they went on to play in the Bluebonnet Bowl against Hence the Baylor Bears @ Houston – Texas. and won that game by 10 points – something like 24 – 14 or was it 23 – 13. I am a lot older now and my memory tends to get more foggy lately as the years go on. Well happy football watching and my your team favorite team win with the exception of the San Jose Spartans only because they are playing against my favorite team. I will also be pulling for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, no offense to any BYU Cougar fans, I just would like to see them avoid a 2 game losing streak with that always difficult and huge Stamford Cardinal team that unfortunately lost to a USC Trojan team at the coliseum. Later, Joe

I forgot to include watching the Texas – Aggies -vs.- the LSU – Tigers in the Bayou at 3:30pm. I will have to make sure that the hotel bar has multiple TV’s designated for college football games. I am sure they will being that “The Game” is town this year and the Yale Bulldogs have not won a game against their Rival Harvard – Crimson at the Yale Bowl since 1999. Wow that’s a long time but I should shut my trap because I do believe my favorite team, the Navy Middies have the longest non-winning record against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Wow, Oh get this, I needed to purchase ahead of time a parking pass to ensure that a space will be available when I arrive at the game. I am not knocking Yale or New Haven – CT, but is the Yale Bowl is located in the suburbs, and way renovated in 1954, why the heck would they not have enough parking spaces to justify the 63,449 stadium capacity? Just a thought, if you want more people to fill the venue, doesn’t it make sense to have enough parking to assist? Anyways, not complaining and picking on anyone or anything, just a thought. Okay, I guess I was correct in my brain not working as well as it did many years ago. Like I stated above – Happy College Football watching and may your favorite team win or at worst lose with dignity by playing their best and just getting beat by a better team on that given day. Later!!! Joe
