Arizona State, UNLV Schedule 2020-21 Football Series

By Kevin Kelley -

The Arizona State Sun Devils and the UNLV Rebels have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2020 and 2021, the two schools announced today.

In the first game of the series, Arizona State will travel to take on UNLV in Las Vegas on Sept. 12, 2020. The Rebels will return the trip the following season when they travel to take on the Sun Devils in Tempe on Sept. 11, 2021.

“We are excited to announce this series with UNLV,” Vice President for ASU Athletics Ray Anderson said. “With our scheduling philosophy we are always looking to schedule home-/home series with selected institutions within our geographical footprint. UNLV as an institution and Las Vegas as a destination fit that perfectly. We believe our fan base will enjoy this series.”

The addition of UNLV completes the 2020 non-conference schedule for Arizona State. The Sun Devils also host Northern Arizona (Sept. 5) and BYU (Sept. 19). In 2021, ASU now has two non-conference games set, with the other a trip to BYU on Sept. 18.

“We are thrilled to announce this series with Arizona State,” said UNLV Director of Athletics Tina Kunzer-Murphy. “The fact that these two universities are located so close to each other will make it great for both fan bases. It makes a lot of sense to play a nationally successful Pac-12 Conference opponent from a bordering state and we are excited to be hosting the Sun Devils for the first time ever to open the series.”

UNLV will open the 2020 season at home against Louisiana Tech on Sept. 5. After hosting Arizona State, the Rebels travel to take on Iowa State on Sept. 19. One more game is needed to complete their schedule that season.

The Rebels now have two games scheduled for 2021. The week after visiting Arizona State, UNLV returns home to host Iowa State.
