The Kentucky Wildcats have added the New Mexico State Aggies to their 2016 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.

Kentucky will host New Mexico State at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington on Sept. 17, 2016, per a copy of the contract obtained from the University of Kentucky.

The Wildcats will pay the Aggies a $1.3 million guarantee for the game, which will be the first ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

Kentucky has now tentatively completed their non-conference schedule for the 2016 season. The Wildcats are scheduled to open the season at home against Southern Miss on Sept. 3, host Austin Peay on Nov. 19, and travel to take on in-state rival Louisville on Nov. 26.

New Mexico State has also tentatively completed their 2016 non-conference schedule. The Aggies also host New Mexico (Sept. 10) and travel to Texas A&M (Oct. 29) and UTEP (date TBD).

Way to go Kentucky! 3 home game cupcakes for an SEC nobody. Where are you Wildcat defenders?

typical SEC.. in fear of competition. And the few instances a decent team shows up on a non-conf schedule, it’s at a “neutral” filed in the south. Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, etc

When will the UK PUSSYcats schedule Marshall, a G5 program just two hours from Lexington. Oh, I know, they might get beat. Should change the mascot to Chicken.

Alabama has Charleston Southern and ULM and its considered the #1 SOS. so Louisville, and having the #25 SOS in the country. I think thats enough. 25/128. upper quarter. So shut up.

Alabama plays: #20 Wisconsin, #17 Ole Miss, @ #10 Georgia, #18 Arkansas, @#16 Texas A&M, #22 Tennessee, #14 LSU, @#25 Miss St & @#6 Auburn.
That is why they are #1 SOS
