Bowling Green to play at Notre Dame in 2019

By Kevin Kelley -

The Bowling Green Falcons will play at the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 2019, the school announced on Thursday.

The game is set for Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 at Notre Dame Stadium and it will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

“We are excited to add a team as tradition-rich as Notre Dame to our non-conference schedule for the 2019 season,” BGSU Director of Athletics Bob Moosbrugger said. “Not only will BGSU football student-athletes benefit from the game day experience, but this game will provide a great opportunity for our football season ticket holders, Falcon Club members and alumni.”

The addition of Notre Dame tentatively completes Bowling Green’s non-conference schedule for 2019. The Falcons are scheduled to open the 2019 season at Maryland on Aug. 31.

In addition to games at Notre Dame and Maryland, the Falcons are slated to visit Kansas State on Sept. 7 and host Louisiana Tech on Sept. 14.

Notre Dame is set to open the 2019 season at Louisville on Monday, Sept. 2 (Labor Day). The Fighting Irish are also slated to travel to Georgia, Michigan, Duke, and Stanford.

Home games in 2019 for the Fighting Irish include New Mexico, Virginia, Bowling Green, Virginia Tech, Navy, Boston College, and USC. One of those will likely be dubbed the Shamrock Series game and played off-campus.

The way ND is playing, they need more MAC/Sun Belt teams on their future schedules…..why don’t they invite N. Dakota State?
