Miami (Ohio) adds Presbyterian to 2019 football schedule

By Kevin Kelley -

The Miami (Ohio) RedHawks have added the Presbyterian Blue Hose to their 2019 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.

Miami will host Presbyterian at Yager Stadium in Oxford on Sept. 7, 2019. The Blue Hose will receive a $300,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained via a public records request to MU.

In their first and only meeting in 2015, the Redhawks defeated the Blue Hose 26-7 in Oxford.

The addition of Presbyterian gives Miami three non-conference games for the 2019 season. The Redhawks are also scheduled to play at Iowa on Aug. 31 and host Cincinnati on Sept. 14.

Earlier this week, we reported that Miami (OH) will host Missouri on Sept. 13, 2025. That game is listed on the future schedules section of Mizzou’s official athletics website.

Missouri and Miami were previously scheduled to play a home-and-home series in 2010 in Columbia and 2012 in Oxford. The series was later altered and both games were played in Columbia in 2010 and 2011.

As a result of that change, Missouri owed Miami a game in Oxford. According to a copy of the contract, Miami will pay Missouri a $200,000 guarantee for the game.

How in the hell is Mizzou getting such a low guarantee let alone $100k less than Presbyterian? Part of the clause in hosting the first 2 games?

The photo chosen for this announcement is perfect. That is about the size of the crowd for this classic match up.
