The UConn Huskies will host the Holy Cross Crusaders in 2021, according to the official website of Holy Cross.
UConn and Holy Cross are scheduled to meet at Rentschler Field in East Hartford to open the 2021 season on Thursday, Sept. 2.
The two schools were already scheduled to meet to open the 2017 season on Thursday, Aug. 31 in East Hartford.
Holy Cross is a member of the Patriot League in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Crusaders finished the 2016 season 4-7 overall and 2-4 in league play.
UConn and Holy Cross have met 28 times on the gridiron in a series that began back in 1916 in Worcester, Massachusetts. The Huskies trail in the series 8-19-1, but the two schools haven’t played since a 1985 contest in Storrs, Connecticut.
Holy Cross is the second known non-conference opponent for UConn for the 2021 season. The Huskies are also scheduled to travel to UMass on Oct. 2.
