Miami Hurricanes to open 2017 season vs. Bethune-Cookman

By Kevin Kelley -

The Miami Hurricanes will open the 2017 season vs. the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, the Miami Herald has reported.

Miami will host Bethune-Cookman at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017.

Miami and Bethune-Cookman have met three times on the gridiron. The Hurricanes lead the overall series 3-0 after wins in 2011 (45-14), 2012 (38-10), and 2015 (45-0).

Bethune-Cookman is a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in the Football Championship Subdivision. Last season, the Wildcats finished 4-6 overall and 4-4 in conference play.

The addition of Bethune-Cookman completes Miami’s non-conference schedule in 2017. The Canes also travel to Arkansas State (Sept. 9) and host Toledo (Sept. 23) and Notre Dame (Nov. 11).

In ACC play, the Hurricanes are scheduled to host Georgia Tech, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Syracuse and travel to Duke, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Florida State.
