Arkansas to host Tulsa in 2018, Georgia Southern in 2021

By Kevin Kelley -

The Arkansas Razorbacks will host the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in 2018 and the Georgia Southern Eagles in 2021, the school announced on Monday.

Arkansas will host Tulsa on Oct. 20, 2018 and Georgia Southern on Sept. 18, 2021. The Razorbacks are 53-16-3 all-time against Tulsa and have never faced Georgia Southern on the gridiron.

Arkansas also confirmed our story from earlier today that they will open the 2018 season vs. Eastern Illinois on Sept. 1.

The Razorbacks now have three announced non-conference games for 2018, 2019, and 2021. They still need to schedule a non-SEC Power Five opponent in 2018 and 2019 after Michigan canceled their home-and-home series last year.

Arkansas’ 2017 Red-White Spring Game is set for Saturday, April 29 at 1:00pm ET. The Razorbacks open the regular-season against Florida A&M on Thursday, Aug. 31 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

This will be a nice payday and W for THE Georgia Southern University Eagles!

“And they ran through our ass like shit through a tin horn, man. And we could not stop them. Could not stop them.” – Nicholas Saban on Georgia Southern

All respect to Georgia Southern, they went up 21-0 in the 1st quarter, of course lost 45-21 in the end but was not fun to watch, Bama could not stop their running game. At the time they were FCS & could hold their own. Magic Saban quotes are the best, I could watch them all day.

Michigan has opening on their 2018 and 2019 schedules…LOL.

I suspect Okla St will let Boise St be their OOC “P5” opponent, and will opt to schedule a FCS program.

Miami FL needs a home game in 2018, so the Canes vs The Hawgs? If Louisville can schedule two SEC opponents in 2018, so can Miami.

The Hawgs could do what the Ducks did, after Texas A&M cancelled on Oregon. Schedule a MWC opponent. How about Nevada?

Is Texas Tech going to play Mississippi in Houston or in NOLA in 2018?

Glad to see Arkansas and Tulsa renewing their rivalry, even if only for one game. I bet most of you don’t know that Tulsa’s longest series is against Arkansas (72 games), and that Tulsa is Arkansas’s fourth most-played opponent (Texas is first at 78, and Texas A&M and SMU are just 1 ahead at 73). This was the season-ending rivalry through the mid-1950s, and the game was played annually until 1990, when the beginning of conference realignment was setting in. I wish this game would be played more often.

Hog Fans – who does your gut indicate will be the 2018-9 P5 opponent?

Fingers crossed for Okie State. Stanford has an open date in 2018, which would be cool. We’d have to play the second game in a year later than 2019.
