The Georgia Southern Eagles have scheduled home-and-home football series with the Ball State Cardinals and the UAB Blazers for 2022 and 2023, the school announced on Tuesday.
Georgia Southern will host Ball State at Paulson Stadium in Statesboro on Sept. 24, 2022 and will travel to face the Cardinals at Scheumann Stadium in Muncie, Indiana on Sept. 23, 2023.
The Eagles will travel to take on the Blazers at Legion Field in Birmingham on Sept. 17, 2022 and will host UAB in Statesboro on Sept. 9, 2023.
Georgia Southern has never faced Ball State or UAB on the gridiron. Both opponents are the first announced for the Eagles for both the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
UAB returns to college football this season after a two-year absence.
“It’s always exciting when you get the opportunity to face a program in your region with the tradition Georgia Southern has,” UAB head coach Bill Clark said. “Georgia Southern has proven it can compete with upper echelon teams, and we expect a very competitive series when we take the field in 2022.”
Football Schedules
The UAB series is decent but the Georgia Southern fan base has ZERO interest in watching the Eagles play ANY Mid-American teams.
Oh well, makes for some easy wins to count toward bowl eligibility.
