The Georgia Bulldogs have added the Kent State Golden Flashes to their 2022 football schedule, the Athens Banner-Herald has reported.

Georgia will host Kent State at Sanford Stadium in Athens on Sept. 24, 2022. The Bulldogs will pay the Golden Flashes a $1.9 million guarantee for the game, according to the report.

Georgia and Kent State’s first and only meeting on the gridiron was back in 1998. The Bulldogs defeated the Golden Flashes 56-3 in Athens.

UGA now has two non-conference games scheduled for the 2022 season. The Bulldogs are also slated to host in-state rival Georgia Tech on Nov. 26.

In SEC play in 2022, Georgia is scheduled to host Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Florida (in Jacksonville) and travel to Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, and Mississippi State.

Georgia is the first scheduled non-conference opponent for Kent State for 2022.
