LSU adds UTSA to 2020 football schedule

The LSU Tigers have added the UTSA Roadrunners to their 2020 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.

LSU will host UTSA at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge to open the 2020 season on Sept. 5. LSU will pay UTSA a $1.4 million guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained from LSU.

The 2020 match-up will be the first ever meeting between LSU and UTSA on the gridiron.

LSU was previously scheduled to open the 2020 season vs. Nicholls State. That game has been moved to Oct. 3, 2020, according to a copy of contract amendment signed by both schools.

The addition of UTSA tentatively completes LSU’s non-conference schedule for the 2020 season. The Tigers are also scheduled to host the Texas Longhorns on Sept. 12 and take on the Rice Owls at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

In SEC play in 2020, LSU is scheduled to host Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and South Carolina and travel to Arkansas, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Florida.

UTSA, a member of Conference USA, now has three non-conference games scheduled for 2020. The Roadrunners are also scheduled to travel to both Texas State (Sept. 12) and Memphis (Sept. 26).
