College football rankings: Week 10, 2017

By Brian Wilmer -

College football rankings for week 10 have been released, and Iowa State made the biggest jump in both polls.

Matt Campbell’s Cyclones defeated the fourth-ranked TCU Horned Frogs, 14-7, at Jack Trice Stadium Saturday afternoon. The victory was Iowa State’s second over a top-five opponent this month. The Cyclones climbed 11 spots in both polls after the win.

Mississippi State jumped back into both polls following a 35-14 throttling of Texas A&M. The Bulldogs are ranked 21st in the AP poll and 22nd in the coaches’ rankings. Arizona also rejoined the ranks after a 58-37 win over Washington State. Rich Rodriguez’ Wildcats are ranked 23rd by the AP and 25th by the coaches.

The top four teams are the same in both polls (Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Wisconsin), perhaps foreshadowing the first CFP rankings.

Below are the full AP and Coaches Polls for Week 10 of the 2017 season. The first College Football Playoff ranking will be released this Tuesday, Oct. 31.
