Appalachian State to play at Wisconsin in 2020

By Kevin Kelley -

The Appalachian State Mountaineers will play at the Wisconsin Badgers in 2020, the school announced on Monday.

Appalachian State will travel to play Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison on Sept. 19, 2020. The game will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

“We’re excited to add a nationally recognized program like Wisconsin to our future football schedule,” App State director of athletics Doug Gillin said.

App State now has three non-conference games scheduled for the 2020 season. The Mountaineers are also scheduled to play at Wake Forest on Sept. 12 and host UMass on Sept. 26.

Wisconsin was previously scheduled to host Southern Illinois on Sept. 19, 2020, so the Badgers are either postponing or canceling that game.

Other non-conference games for Wisconsin in 2020 include a trip to Syracuse on Sept. 11 and Notre Dame at Lambeau Field on Sept. 25.

Wisconsin’s Big Ten schedule in 2020 has already been released. The Badgers will host Indiana, Minnesota, Illinois, and Nebraska and will travel to Michigan, Maryland, Northwestern, Purdue, and Iowa.

The win over Michigan was 10 years ago plus they played App St in 2014 & won beat them 52-14 in the rematch. We can ask Wake Forest who just beat team by 1 point or we could ask Georgia who beat them 31-10. Not sure why people that luv to say cupcake & cream-puffs are not saying the same here.
