Georgia to host ULM in 2020

By Kevin Kelley -

The Georgia Bulldogs have added the ULM Warhawks to their 2020 football schedule, according to a report by DawgNation.

Georgia will host ULM at Sanford Stadium in Athens on Sept. 26, 2020. The Bulldogs will pay the Warhawks a $1.75 million guarantee, per a copy of the contract.

In their last meeting in 2015, Georgia defeated ULM 51-14 in Athens. The Bulldogs lead the overall series 4-0.

The addition of ULM tentatively completes the non-conference schedule for the Bulldogs for the 2020 season. Georgia is also slated to play Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game on Labor Day (Sept. 7), host Georgia Tech (Nov. 28), and host ETSU on a date to be announced.

In SEC play in 2020, Georgia is scheduled to host Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Florida (in Jacksonville) and travel to Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, and Alabama.

Georgia is the first known non-conference opponent for ULM for the 2020 season.

People that don’t have much to say normally use the cupcake & cream puff analogy. This is a cupcake game yet the Wisconsin adding on App St is a great match-up? Really? Georgia beat App St 31-10 this year, I’m (guessing) Wisconsin will probably win by the same if not more if the Badgers are still this good in 3 years.

Wisconsin is playing 9 B1G games, Notre Dame, and Syracuse that year. I think one game against what’s usually a pretty decent Sun Belt team is okay if you’re playing ELEVEN P5 opponents.

App State added to Notre Dame and Syracuse is hardly a “cupcake” NC scheduling issue for Wisconsin.

Giving six different NC schedules would you say any of these are “cupcake” NC schedules? [(N) = neutral site), and (A) = away)

1) Louisville (N), Arkansas State, UL Lafayette, The Citadel
2) Washington (N), Alabama State, Southern Miss, Liberty
3) Charleston Southern, Colorado State, Idaho, Florida State (A)
4) Austin Peay, Middle Tennessee, UMass, Georgia Tech
5) Miami FL (N), SE Louisania, Louisania Tech, Rice
6) Northwestern State, Clemson, ULM, UAB

Who/what, pray, is ULM? Would help if in the body of the article you once wrote out the full name, which I assure you is not on the lips of every sports fan. Just an idea.
