    Clear Your Schedule – ACC Bowl Games, 2012-13

    Chick-fil-A BowlOne of the more unusual seasons in recent ACC history is behind us, with Florida State capturing the proverbial brass ring over three weeks ago in Charlotte. The Seminoles received the ACC’s automatic bid to the BCS, while their opponent, Georgia Tech, also received a bowl spot by virtue of an NCAA waiver.

    Clear Your Schedule – 2012 SEC Championship Game

    Alabama-GeorgiaWe should have known. We truly should have known.

    Just when we all thought the SEC’s streak of playing for national titles would end, Kansas State lost. Then Oregon lost. We will not get an all-SEC title game this year, but the winner of this year’s conference championship game gets the honor of facing Notre Dame in the BCS Championship. Alabama is fighting for a return trip to play for the title, while a Georgia win would allow them to play for their first title since 1980. Ironically enough, Georgia beat Notre Dame to win that title.Read Full Story »

    Clear Your Schedule – 2012 ACC Championship Game

    Bank of America StadiumOne of the wildest ACC football seasons in recent memory draws to a close on Saturday in Charlotte. Clemson lost their first ACC game to Florida State, then never lost again over the course of the ACC schedule. Maryland lost every scholarship quarterback to injury and finished the season with a linebacker playing quarterback. Maryland was not done making news, though, as they announced their intent to leave for the Big 10 in 2014.

    Florida-Florida StateIn yet another ridiculously fast-moving college football season, we find ourselves at Thanksgiving week, with the Gobblers (fittingly) at home and a matchup locked in for the ACC Championship in Charlotte.

    Georgia-Georgia TechThe SEC emerges from a week against a lot of FCS competition to engage in rivalry games as the season approaches its end. The conference is again in the running to play for a national title after losses by #1 Kansas State and #2 Oregon last week.

    This week’s slate of games features two schools that have already fired their coaches playing each other, one more school who will be looking for a coach and another who might be looking for a coach. Two other teams are battling for bowl eligibility.
