The 2010 preseason AP Top 25 College Football Poll has been released. The 2009 National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide top the rankings. They received 54 first place votes and 1,491 total points.
The conference breakdown of the AP Top 25 is very similar to the USA Today Coaches Poll that was released earlier this month. The SEC leads all conferences with six teams in the Top 25.

With their 45-35 victory over the previously no. 1 Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry, the Texas Longhorns have taken over the top spot in both the AP Poll and USA Today Coaches’ Poll. After their 52-7 victory in Charlottesville over the Virginia Cavaliers, the USC Trojans have risen from 2nd to 1st in both the AP and USA Today Coaches’ Poll.
