The Alabama Crimson Tide are the 2012 BCS National Champions after their 21-0 win over the LSU Tigers. It was the first shutout ever in a BCS game.
Jeremy Shelley kicked five field goals for the Tide and Trent Richardson scored the lone touchdown in the game on a 34-yard run late in the fourth quarter. Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, the offensive MVP, completed 23 of 34 passes for 234 yards.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are set to face the LSU Tigers in the 2012 Allstate BCS National Championship Game tonight at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The game will be televised by ESPN and ESPN3 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
LSU (13-0, 8-0 SEC) is the number one ranked team in the country in the BCS Rankings, AP Poll and ESPN/USA Today Poll. Alabama (11-1, 7-1 SEC) is ranked second in all three polls and held off Oklahoma State for the spot in the title game.

Earlier this season, LSU defeated Alabama 9-6 in overtime in Tuscaloosa. Although the Crimson Tide lead the overall series 45-25-5, the Tigers have won seven of the last ten meetings.

Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns have received their first ever bowl bid at the FBS level, the school announced today. The Cajuns will play in the 2011 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
The game will be played on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 9:00 p.m. ET at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana (ESPN and ESPN 3D). The Cajuns will be the first ever school from Louisiana to play in the bowl game.

The BYU Cougars have accepted an invitation to the 2011 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, the school announced today.
BYU will meet a team from Conference USA on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The game will be televised by ESPN at 12:00 p.m. ET.
The Cougars have an overall bowl record of 11-17-1. This will be their first Armed Forces Bowl appearance and their 7th consecutive season playing in a bowl game.

ESPN has announced their 2011 college football schedule that will be broadcast in 3D. ESPN 3D will air 20 regular-season games, the Allstate BCS National Championship Game and five bowl games.
ESPN 3D is currently available on AT&T, Comcast, DirecTV, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FIOS.

The 2011-12 College Football Bowl Schedule was officially released today by the Football Bowl Association. The FBA represents college football’s 35 postseason games and all the excitement that is the bowl season.
The bowl season kicks off on Saturday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. ET with the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque. This year’s matchup will feature the Pac-12 no. 7 seed against the no. 4 or 5 team from the MWC.

The logo for the the 2012 Allstate BCS National Championship Game has been released. The game will be played on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.
