Today the Nebraska Cornhuskers have officially joined the Big Ten Conference. The conference now has 12 members and has expanded for the first time since adding Penn State in 1990.
Nebraska will compete in the Legends Division along with Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota and Northwestern. Their first game of 2011 is on September 3 at home against Chattanooga. The Boise State Broncos are now officially a member of the Mountain West Conference. The Broncos announced their move to the MWC last June.
Boise State opens their 2011 season on September 3 in the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff against the Georgia Bulldogs. The game will be televised by ESPN at 8:00 p.m. ET. Read Full Story »
The BYU Cougars are officially a Football Bowl Subdivision independent today. This is the first time in school history that they will compete without a conference affiliation in football.
BYU leaves behind the Mountain West, a conference they competed in from 1999 through 2010. They won the conference title in 2001, 2006 and 2007 and tied for a share of first in 1999. Read Full Story »
The Air Force at Navy football game scheduled for Saturday, October 1 has been moved to 12:00 p.m. ET and will now be televised by CBS. The game was previously slated for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.
The game is part of a triple-header for CBS on October 1. Following Air Force-Navy is College Football Today at 3:00 p.m. ET, and then SEC games at 3:30 and 8:00 p.m. ET. The SEC games have yet to be announced. Read Full Story »
The Alabama Crimson Tide will face the Virginia Tech Hokies in the 2013 Chick-fil-A College Kickoff, DailyPress.com has reported.
The Chick-fil-A College Kickoff is an annual college football game played the first week of the season at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. This year’s game features Boise State vs. Georgia.

The West Virginia Mountaineers are close to finalizing an agreement to host the James Madison Dukes at FedEx Field on September 15, 2012, DailyMail.com has reported.
This will be the second meeting between the two schools. West Virginia beat James Madison 45-10 in 2004. The Dukes went on to win the 1-AA National Championship that year. Read Full Story »
The Miami (OH) RedHawks have extended home-and-home football series’ with Cincinnati and Marshall. The games are listed on Miami’s official website.
The RedHawks will host the Cincinnati Bearcats at Yager Stadium in Oxford on September 16, 2017. Miami will then travel to face Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium on September 15, 2018. Read Full Story »
The Maryland Terrapins will play two future football games at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, the school announced today.
Maryland will face the West Virginia Mountaineers of the Big East on September 21, 2013. In 2014, the Terrapins will play ACC foe Virginia Tech. The exact date will be determined when the ACC releases the schedule in 2014. Read Full Story »
The USF Bulls have added the McNeese State Cowboys to their 2013 football schedule, TampaBay.com has reported.
USF will host McNeese in their season opener on August 31, 2013 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. McNeese, a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), will receive a guarantee of $400,000 for the game. Read Full Story »

The 2011-12 College Football Bowl Schedule was officially released today by the Football Bowl Association. The FBA represents college football’s 35 postseason games and all the excitement that is the bowl season.
The bowl season kicks off on Saturday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. ET with the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque. This year’s matchup will feature the Pac-12 no. 7 seed against the no. 4 or 5 team from the MWC. Read Full Story »

Biegel, a 6-3, 210-pound linebacker from Wisconsin Rapids, committed to the Badgers in April but says he is still considering BYU. The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Central Michigan Chippewas have scheduled a 3-game football series beginning in 2015, Drew Ellis of The Morning Sun has reported.
Oklahoma State will travel to face Central Michigan at Kelly/Shorts Stadium in Mount Pleasant in 2015. The Chippewas will then face the Cowboys at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater in two games with dates to be announced. Read Full Story »
The Mid-American Conference has announced kickoff times and TV coverage for the 2011 football season. Over 50 games involving MAC teams will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN3, ESPN Plus and regional network stations.
