  • Reports: Appalachian State, Georgia Southern to join Sun Belt Conference

    Appalachian State-Georgia SouthernThe Appalachian State Mountaineers and the Georgia Southern Eagles will be joining the Sun Belt Conference in 2015, multiple sources have reported.

    Both schools are members of the Southern Conference and are perennial powerhouses in the Football Championship Subdivision. Appalachian State has collected three national championships and won or shared the Southern Conference championship 12 times.

  • Washington State still set to play at Wisconsin in 2015

    Washington StateWashington State is still set to play at Wisconsin in 2015, WSU sports information director Bill Stevens told

    In an email, Stevens said “we had previously moved our Wisconsin game in 2015 to Sept. 19.”

    Last week, Wisconsin announced that they will face the Alabama Crimson Tide at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sept. 5, 2015.

  • USF adds Stony Brook and Elon to Future Football Schedules

    USF BullsThe USF Bulls have added the Stony Brook Seawolves and the Elon Phoenix to their future football schedules, the Tampa Bay Times has reported. Both opponents are FCS schools.

    Stony Brook will visit Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Sept. 2, 2017, while Elon will face the Bulls there on Sept. 1, 2018. USF is 1-0 against Stony Brook and 2-1 against Elon.

  • Charlotte adds Eastern Michigan & Elon to Future Football Schedules

    McColl-Richardson FieldThe Charlotte 49ers have added the Eastern Michigan Eagles and the Elon Phoenix to their future football schedules, the school announced today. Both contracts are for home-and-home series.

    Charlotte will host Eastern Michigan at McColl-Richardson Field on Sept. 3, 2016. The 49ers will then travel to meet the Eagles at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti on Sept. 2, 2017.

  • Alabama, Wisconsin to open 2015 Season at Cowboys Stadium

    Cowboys StadiumThe Alabama Crimson Tide and the Wisconsin Badgers will open the 2015 season at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the schools announced today.

    The game will be played on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015. Television and network coverage will be announced at a later date, but the game will likely by a national broadcast in prime time.

  • Boise State, Troy schedule 2017-18 Home-and-home Football Series

    Bronco StadiumThe Boise State Broncos and the Troy Trojans have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2017 and 2018, both schools announced today.

    Boise State will host the first game of the series and first ever meeting between the two schools at Bronco Stadium on Sept. 2, 2017. In the second and final game of the two-game set, the Broncos will travel to face the Trojans at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Sept. 1, 2018. Both games will be the season-opener for each school.

  • BYU, Virginia add Two Games to Future Football Series

    BYU CougarsThe BYU Cougars and the Virginia Cavaliers have added two additional games to their future football series.

    BYU will travel to face Virginia at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville on Sept. 7, 2019. The Cavaliers will then travel to face the Cougars at LaVell Stadium in Provo on Sept. 19, 2020.

    The two schools are also slated to meet in 2013 and 2014.
