  • Penn State may play a Future Football Game in Ireland

    Penn StateAfter receiving a four-year postseason ban last year, the Penn State Nittany Lions began looking at ways to upgrade their future football schedules. A series with UCF was recently announced, and now Penn State is looking at playing a future game in Ireland.

    Head coach Bill O’Brien confirmed the possible overseas trip Saturday night at a high school football banquet at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

  • Cincinnati, UAB add Alabama A&M to Future Football Schedules

    Alabama A&MThe Cincinnati Bearcats and the UAB Blazers have each added the Alabama A&M Bulldogs to their future football schedules.

    UAB will host Alabama A&M in 2014, while Cincinnati will host the Bulldogs on Sept. 5, 2015.

    Previously scheduled games for Cincinnati in 2015 at home against Air Force (Sept. 12) and at Miami, FL (Oct. 3) have or are in the process of being cancelled, according to UC athletics. This also includes a game at Air Force on Sept. 2, 2017.

  • Colorado, Nebraska schedule four-game football series

    The Colorado Buffaloes and the Nebraska Huskers have scheduled a four-game series for 2018, 2019, 2023, and 2024.

  • Florida State and Pittsburgh could play on Labor Day

    Pittsburgh PanthersThe Florida State Seminoles and the Pittsburgh Panthers could play on Labor Day this season, the Orlando Sentinel has reported.

    Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 2. The game would be played at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh and would likely be a prime-time game on national television.

    FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher revealed the possible Monday matchup at the end of the Seminoles’ annual Signing Day “War Party” yesterday in Tallahassee.

  • Four Teams Need a 2013 Non-Conference Football Game

    Syracuse OrangeAfter a flurry of scheduling activity over the last week, only four teams remain that need a non-conference football game in 2013: New Mexico State, Syracuse, UL Lafayette, and Western Kentucky.

    That number could easily be two as New Mexico State and UL Lafayette are reportedly discussing a game for Nov. 2, 2013.

    Just last week, there were nine teams in need of a game. Let’s take a look at the four remaining teams:

  • Northwestern to play Five Future Football Games at Wrigley Field

    Wrigley FieldThe Northwestern Wildcats will play five future football games at Wrigley Field in Chicago, NU Athletics and the Chicago Cubs announced today.

    Dates and opponents for the those five football games will be announced at a later date due to the scheduling of the Wrigley Field restoration project.

    Northwestern has also agreed to feature several other athletic programs at the historic stadium, including baseball and lacrosse. One date is already set: Northwestern baseball will host Michigan on April 20, 2013.

  • ULM, Wake Forest schedule 2013-14 Home-and-home Football Series

    Wake Forest Demon DeaconsThe ULM Warhawks and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons have scheduled a 2013-14 home-and-home football series, both schools announced today.

    ULM will travel to face Wake Forest at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Sept. 14, 2013. The Demon Deacons will then return the game to Malone Stadium in Monroe, Louisiana on Aug. 30, 2014.

  • Report: UTEP, Arizona to play 2017-18 Home-and-home Football Series

    Sun Bowl StadiumThe UTEP Miners and the Arizona Wildcats have reportedly scheduled a home-and-home football series for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

    Bret Bloomquist of the El Paso Times revealed the Pac-12/C-USA match-up yesterday, but did not have specific dates or locations for the series.

    Arizona and UTEP have met 51 times since 1916.

  • Report: Old Dominion close to finalizing 2-game series with USF

    Old DominionThe Old Dominion Monarchs are close to finalizing a 2-game, home-and-home football series with the USF Bulls, Harry Minium of The Virginian-Pilot has reported.

    If the series is completed, ODU will host USF in 2014 and then travel to face the Bulls in Tampa in 2016. The two schools have never met in football.
