    Syracuse OrangeThe Syracuse Orange have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Minnesota, Northwestern, USC, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and UConn.

    Syracuse opens the 2012 season at home on Sept. 1 against the Northwestern Wildcats of the Big Ten. The following week, Syracuse takes on the USC Trojans at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

    Pittsburgh PanthersThe Pittsburgh Panthers have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Louisville, Rutgers and Syracuse.

    Pittsburgh opens the 2012 season at home on Sept. 1 against the Youngstown State Penguins. Other non-conference games include vs. Virginia Tech (Sept. 15), vs. Gardner-Webb (Sept. 22), at Buffalo (Oct. 20) and at Notre Dame (Nov. 3).

    Louisville CardinalsThe Louisville Cardinals have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Kentucky, North Carolina, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and UConn.

    Louisville opens the 2012 season with five straight non-conference games, beginning with in-state rival Kentucky at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium on Sept. 1. The Cardinals then host Missouri State (Sept. 8) and North Carolina (Sept. 15) before hitting the road to play Florida International (Sept. 22) and Southern Miss (Sept. 29).

    UConn HuskiesThe Connecticut Huskies have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Maryland, NC State, Cincinnati, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Rutgers.

    Connecticut opens the 2012 season at home on Thursday, Aug. 30 against new FBS member UMass. The Huskies follow that game with four more non-conference contests: NC State (Sept. 8), at Maryland (Sept. 15), at Western Michigan (Sept. 22) and home vs. Buffalo (Fri., Sept. 28).

    Cincinnati BearcatsThe Cincinnati Bearcats have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Miami (OH), Virginia Tech, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and UConn.

    Cincinnati opens the 2012 season on Thursday, Sept. 6 with a Big East game at home against Pittsburgh. The following week, the Bearcats host the Delaware State Hornets.

    Cincinnati BearcatsThe Cincinnati Bearcats have added the Fordham Rams to their 2012 football schedule, Cincinnati.com has reported.

    Cincinnati will host Fordham at Nippert Stadium on Oct. 13, 2012. The Rams are filling the void left on Cincinnati’s schedule when TCU opted to join the Big 12.

  • Conference USA, Mountain West now talking alliance instead of merger

    MWC-C-USAConference USA and Mountain West are now talking about forming an alliance rather than merging, sources have told MercuryNews.com and CBSSports.com.

    The two conferences announced in October that they planned to merge into one conference. Then last month they announced plans to dissolve both conferences and create a new one for legal reasons. Dissolving would allow them to nullify current television contracts and sign newer, more lucrative ones.

  • Clemson may cancel 2013-14 Football Series with Georgia

    GeorgiaClemsonClemson and Georgia are scheduled to play a home-and-home football series in 2013 and 2014. But due to expansion in the ACC, the series may have to be canceled.

    Earlier this month, it was reported that the Georgia-Clemson football series could be in jeopardy. Due to the addition of Pittsburgh and Syracuse to the ACC, likely in 2013, the conference will play a nine-game football schedule.

  • Oregon & Michigan State schedule 2014-15 Home-and-home Football Series

    Michigan StateOregonThe Oregon Ducks and Michigan State Spartans have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2014 and 2015, The Register Guard has reported.

    Oregon will host Michigan State at Autzen Stadium on Sept. 13, 2014. The Ducks will then travel to face Michigan State at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing on Sept. 12, 2015.
